Banco De Gaia

BANCO DE GAIA

Toby Marks was born in South London in 1964. He was drawn to music from an early age and formed his first band as a drummer, aged 14.  In 1989 he formed Banco de Gaia, focussing on world music-infused dance and ambient/chill-out styles, and has released 17 albums. As Banco de Gaia he continues to play live and DJ worldwide and has previously performed with a variety of other musicians as a live band.

Sunny Davidson is a singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist based in the vale of Avalon (Glastonbury, UK). His music is inspired by the traditions of the indigenous peoples and roots music of the world. He developed a burning passion for music at a young age; his dad has always been an avid appreciator of music whose enthusiasm for the guitar greatly influenced him. His journey as a musician began in earnest at eleven years old with the drums.

Algy Behrens is a multi instrumentalist composer, producer and workshop leader. He has years of experience performing, running workshops and music production. Algy’s eclectic musical journey started in 1992 when he joined a West African band called ‘Lamin and Tobabbolu’ based in Leeds. His apprenticeship with band leader and multi instrumentalist  Lamin Jassey allowed him to travel to Gambia in 1992 where he  furthered his skills in lead and rhythm guitar.

Kamala is a rising sacred music duo from the South West of England, co-created by devotional artist/composer Elise Kamala Yuill Cohen and producer/musician Charles Bishop. Kin started playing the violin at 7 years old. He studied for 10 years playing in local orchestras and did a tour of the USA at 17 with the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra.
Kin has been writing songs since he was 12 and has recorded various albums two of them can be heard on soundcloud. Kin also has an orignial band The Mad Farmers Liberation Front themadfarmers.com. Kin considers himself a comunity musician and loves to play at events that bring the community together.

His debut album in collaboration with John Ellis (Cinematic Orchestra, Honeyfeet, The Breath) is produced and due for release 2020, having recieved funding from the PRS and mentoring from the Steve Reid Foundation.

Jen McCarty is a leading luminary in the ascension and twin flame community. She teachers and guides pioneering and  leading changemakers in the spiritual community. Jen experienced a life changing kundalini awakening aged 21 in the Himalayas in northern India chanting the mantra Om Namah Shivaya from that moment she passed over the threshold from 3D consciousness to stabilising into 5th dimensional consciousness. He has been performing at festivals and festivals since man (or person) first landed – or pretended to land – on the moon. He will be keeping everyone alert this weekend by ramping up the new normal cliches to unprecedented levels. His most uneaten panic buy was Essential broccoli seeds and his self-cut hair won 3rd prize in the 80s mullet category at the Lockdown Oscars.

Jud will also be hosting some online games, including Disco Detective, which will have you testing your left-right brain coordination as you attempt to dance and laugh at the same time.

Ben trained as a Rebirthing Breathworker in 2005 and has been on a long and deeply transformative journey with the breath. He holds group breathes as well as one-to-one sessions where the work goes to another level as he can work with clients in more depth. He began training with the School of Movement Medicine in 2013 and is an apprentice teacher and facilitator of their work. He integrates the embodiment practices into his Breathwork and vice versa. The Movement Medicine mandala and it’s energetic and structural holding is at the core of all is offerings.

Jenny Bliss started her musical journey at 6 years old, when she taught herself to read and write music and play the recorder. She has since toured the world with leading early music ensembles, the Medieval Baebes and psychedelic folk bands playing  live on Radio 3, at the BBC Proms and Buckingham Palace. She now lives in Glastonbury and is recording a ‘musical diary’ of this year.

It is a project to help people in their inner journey through healing sounds and nature connection. The founder Belén with her team, Simona and Kyle, are musicians, sound healers and nature lovers, offering medicine music for the heart. I mainly made my name performing poetry and Hip-Hop and Dub poetry in Bristol and at festivals for most of the past ten years but I have performed less in the past two years while training to be a Steiner School teacher in London.
